Erase Those Wrinkles With Botox and Say Goodbye to All Your Creams and Serums
May 15, 2024
There you are again, looking at photo albums from when you were younger. You come across a picture of you in your late 20’s. Looking in the mirror, you wonder what happened? When did all of those wrinkles appear? They sneak up on you, don’t they?
Come to think of it, there were times you left to go to the beach and forgot your sunscreen. And the stress of raising kids and working overtime to support your family certainly may have played a part.
Hell, you’ve earned those wrinkles! So why don’t you wanna keep them? Unfortunately, they’re not pleasant. They make you feel older than you are. You quit wearing foundation because the makeup settles into the wrinkles and accentuates them.
While you’re saving money on buying foundation, you’re splurging elsewhere on products you slather on your face 3 times a day that promise to erase those signs of age.
With an overwhelming number of products out there claiming to be the best, it’s AWFULLY confusing to know where to turn. The good news is, you’ve come to the right place.
The single most effective way to drastically reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles more quickly is Botox.
Hey, I’m Amy, the owner of Work of Art Aesthetics in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Now I’m sure you’re thinking, I can’t afford Botox, are you crazy? However, think for a moment how much you’ve spent over the years on all of your facial products. That adds up, doesn’t it?
The money you’ll spend on this ends up being way less. Especially since you don’t need to do it very often. Clients typically come in for treatments about every 3-6 months. Of course, this depends on your desired outcome and unique appearance.
Diving Into The Additional Benefits of Aesthetic Treatments
Benefit #1: It’s TOTALLY Safe!
Botulinum toxin type A (AKA Botox), is a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. You might be asking yourself, is this even good for me to be injecting into my skin? The answer is YES. Scientists have proven its safety and effectiveness for medical and cosmetic purposes.
Also, the live virus has been removed so there’s no need at all to worry.
The best part about Botox is that results are very quick compared to creams and serums. You will notice effects in the first couple of weeks and full results by day 30.
Botox works by causing temporary muscle paralysis in the injected area, giving your skin the firm, plump, youthful appearance you desire. And it’s FDA approved so you know that it’s been tested for safety and efficacy.¹
You can trust that booking with a highly-skilled Nurse Practitioner like myself is the perfect choice. On the other hand, are your skin-care products backed by science and checked by a Healthcare professional? Not always!
Benefit #2: Looking beautiful on the outside can lead to wonderful things
Imagine waking up in the morning and looking in the mirror. You see the face that you saw 10, maybe 20 years ago. This makes you feel younger and gives you confidence to be more social. You WANT people to see you.
You wanna get dressed up and wear clothes that accentuate your appearance. You’re gonna get noticed, so be ready–this may even lead to finding the love of your life or rekindling the romance with your partner.
Benefit #3: You’ll save time and money
Just think for a moment about all the different products you’ve slathered on your face and how expensive they were. Add all that up for a year and WOW! You could’ve taken a vacation with that money!
Botox is priced by the unit, and I give 50% off your first time visit, plus customer referral bonuses. Savings like that add up and can make a difference!
Plus, add the bonus that you don’t need treatments very often, which compliments the savings.
Not to mention the time you’ll be preserving by not having to research new products, learn how to use them, and apply them all step-by-step.
Plus, so many ingredients in those serums and creams can have harmful chemicals in them that can actually cause sensitivity and irritation to your skin.
Benefit #4: Oh the health benefits!
Surprisingly, there are many different facial anomalies that Botox targets, including wrinkles. A few areas that botox can treat are²:
Exaggerated nasal flaringDimpling and creasing of the chin
Bunny lines & crow’s feet, forehead lines
Asymmetric smile
Depressor Anguli Oris Botox (Depressed mouth corners)
Having Botox treatments applied to these specific areas goes beyond just looking better. For example, a gummy smile left untreated can lead to gingivitis and tooth decay.
It is crucial we maintain healthy teeth. After all, infections in the mouth can quickly travel to the heart, causing severe illness and in some cases even death if left untreated.
Benefit #5: Extras
Now a crooked smile, wrinkles and depressed mouth corners aren’t health concerns, but for someone who’s self-conscious, it’s pretty important.
Each of us have unique reasons why we want to either treat these areas, or be happy with our faces the way they are. That’s for YOU to decide. No judgment.
Another treatment I will be adding soon targets Platysma bands. These are unappealing vertical lines in the neck, caused by weakening of the neck muscles due to aging and loss of skin elasticity. They’re more noticeable when making certain facial expressions, like smiling and laughing.
Stay tuned for the addition of the Nefertiti Neck lift coming as well! Named after Queen Nefertiti, these botox injections in certain areas of the neck will give you that lifted and elongated look that you so desire. This procedure can also accentuate the face, and the effects can last several months.
Having a smooth, youthful looking neck takes years off your appearance. I’m proud to be offering these services to add to your sleek new look.
After all, why just have a younger face–you may as well get the whole package.
What are some different types of treatments & contraindications?
Two specialty types of botox I offer, among others, are Xeomin, Purest tox and Dysport. All are used primarily to reduce the look of crow’s feet, frown lines and forehead wrinkles.
Xeomin
Xeomin doesn’t have to be refrigerated before use, making it easier to distribute. It also has no additives, and therefore, the risk of developing antibodies against it is less compared to other neurotoxins. It is commonly used to treat Blepharospasm (eye twitching). The desired effects happen within a week and last up to 6 months. It is not to be used with other neurotoxin products.³
Dysport
Dysport is another treatment which is used specifically to target glabellar lines (vertical lines between the eyebrows that develop over time due to overuse of certain facial expressions). Typical results last up to 120 days.⁴
Contraindications of all neurotoxins, including Xeomin and Dysport, remain the same. The chances of developing side effects are slim to none, but of course still a possibility. People who shouldn’t receive treatments include:
Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding
Children under 18
People with medical conditions such as ALS, myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton or syndrome or neuropathy
Anyone taking medications such as muscle relaxants or any drug that interferes with neuromuscular transmission
Skin conditions or infection around injection sites
Allergies or history of allergic reactions to Botox
It’s also important to be aware of side effects and complications that can occur with Botox treatments. Keeping your practitioner aware of any problems you're having is crucial as well.
Most of the time, mild discomfort from the needles is all that you’ll notice.
Rarely, your body can develop antibodies to fight the neurotoxin in Botox, making it less effective. This can happen to anyone, but is more likely to happen to those who are receiving regular treatments. In that case, I can change up the type used or you can simply take a break from injections.
More side effects are possible, depending on the location of injections. These, however, are not common and are largely dependent on technique. Please ask me of any concerns you have and I’d be happy to discuss them.
This is a skill that I’ve performed and perfected over several years. You can take comfort in knowing that I am going to do my best to make sure you don’t have any of these side effects.
